Johnatha Alves started training Jiu Jitsu at the age of 9 in Sao Paulo, Brasil. His first intention was to go to the academy to practice a sport, he did not know that he would soon fall in love with the art and decide to dedicate his life to it. At 12 he also started training MMA and had three wins (2 professional fights when he was 16 and 17 years old). By the age of 17 Johnatha was invited to join the Believe & Achieve program from Art of Jiu Jitsu academy and became a full time athlete representing the team. Professor Gui Mendes has pointed Johnatha many times to the media as one of the AOJ promises for the future. As a 19 year old brown belt Johnatha has accumulated victories over black belt world champions and 5 World titles in the lower ranks. Winning gold medals and building his name in the sport are his main goals right now, the future looks bright for this young champion in becoming a multiple time black belt world champion.
