RVCA is synonymous with art, culture, and pushing the boundaries of what is expected. Over the years it’s been so inspiring to see the artist collaborations emerge in a way that is quintessential to the brand’s soulful stylings. Some of my ANP pieces I’ve had since high school, never wanting to part with my favorite functional works of art. The combination of limited edition, artist’s efforts, and unique feel create an extra special element to their surf inspired wears that makes you want to hold onto them forever

Yet again, RVCA is using their artist platform to challenge the status quo and this time it’s with the planet in mind. For their latest ANP collaboration with artist Sage Vaughn, the design team partnered with Carvico to utilize their eco-conscious Vita fabric. This sustainable techno-fabric is made of ECONYL® regenerated Nylon that turns waste problems into fashion solutions. Derived from plastic water bottles and pre and post industrial waste such as discarded fishing nets, it’s surprisingly stretchy, super soft, and made to last.

I was so stoked to take the ANP suits and a few others to Hawai’i to test run the new collection. From O’ahu to Kaua’i to Big Island, these suits withstood all the elements and held strong in the surf. I loved the classic black and white design by RVCA ANP Artist, Sage Vaughn and the retro cut that is a featured style of the RVCA X Sage Vaughn collection. It’s an exciting time to see surfers stepping up for the planet, combining style and function with regenerative design.
